Winter is almost here. Most thing that winter is boring month. But there are plenty of holidays and events one can go to during this time. Some of us may not be able to go outside a lot because of the cold or snowy weather. But there are indoor activities one can do.
I created a list of things a person can do this winter. Each month I have a list of things you can do. Some are free and others are budget friendly.
December
Eat and Bake Desserts
You can bake your favorite treats. This month there are tons of recipes you can try. I am going to make cranberry and chocolate chip cookies this week.
If you are not a person that loves to bake you can support your local bakery or stores.
Cook for your family/friends.
Cook dinner for your loved ones. It can be anything you enjoy making.
Going to the movies
A lot of families to go the movies during the Christmas Holidays. I know I am looking forward to seeing the Color Purple with my family.
Donate food or toys
This time of year is a good time to donate items to a charity or food kitchen. Check your local organizations to see who needs what for the holidays.
Listen to Music
Rather it is Christmas music or whatever music you desire, play it. It will help boost your mood.
Send or give holiday cards.
It may be too late to send a card, but it is not too late to hand deliver a card. It will just let them know that you care.
Look at lights.
If your neighborhood or a neighborhood close by has lights you can look at the display.
Get some rest. After all of the holiday parties and events, you will need to rest.
Go to a parade.
Some towns have Christmas parades. You will get a chance to see beautiful floats, Santa, cars, bands, choirs, and community leaders.
Make Gingerbread Houses
A new family tradition for us is making gingerbread houses.
Go to historic site event or museum.
Some historic sites or museums have Christmas events. You get a chance to try food from that time period and see costume historic interpreters Some even sing carols. Keep in mind you might have to pay a fee for some events. Some places there is no fee but a donation box.
Wear your holiday pajamas.
This is a tradition that has been going on for a while. I think it is cute thing for families to do.
Hang Christmas Stockings.
My favorite Christmas Tradition is to hang stockings. I love how our parents and grandparents put toys, candy, and accessories in the stockings. I think it is good tradition to keep.
Read Christmas or Winter themed Books
I know I have been enjoying the reading the Christmas books I picked. It really gets a person in the mood for Christmas. You can a lot of books from the local library or at buy them.
Drink Cocoa
Rather you make itself or buy it coco is sure to keep you warm and happy. If you don't like cocoa, you can always drink your favorite drink.
Do random acts of kindness
Do something nice for someone else. You can make them something, buy something for them, or just be kinder. It will help someone else and make you feel better.
Decorate your tree
If you like Christmas trees you can decorate it however you want. Rather you like lights, bows, or ornaments go all out.
Take photos
Don't forget to take photos of some of the things you need. That way you can look back at the fun you had doing these things and more.

Set your planner
Right down every appointment and event in your planner or calendar.
Have a spa day
Rather it is at home, or you go to a spa, just take time to pamper yourself.
Drink Hot chocolate or Tea
Movie night at home
Watch your favorite movies at home if you don't feel like going out. You can watch alone or with others. Just don't forget the snacks.
Sleep
Get some rest.
Play board games
Another thing you can do at home. Event your friends or family to join you some board games.
