Soul Saturday: What are you Doing with Your Freedom?

Next week is Independence Day. We Americans often use this time to go on vacation, have cook outs, camp out, go to family reunions, or just relax. But how often do we reflect on our freedom or better yet how we use are freedom?

We use our freedom to go where we want, do what we want, wear what we want, and say what we want. Sometimes people use their freedom to sin! People use the grace of God to sin because they know they can go back to God and ask for forgiveness. This is something a lot of people believe and you may come across individual like that.

A lot of people use their freedom of speech to promote their beliefs or just blow off a little steam against someone or something they do not like. Some people even use their freedom to promote hate, to bash a individual or group for being different or not having the same beliefs as them. How often do we use our freedom to promote what is good? How often do we use our freedom the way Jesus did?

Luke 4:18

Do we use our freedom to preach the gospel to the poor, the brokenhearted, the oppressed, and abused? Few times I have seen people use their freedom to preach the world of God to a broken world instead of Bible beating and fear mongering. It is time to let people know there is a way out of their circumstances and that do not to be chained in them.

Galatians

That they do not have to bond by sin because someone (Jesus Christ) died for the sins of the world thousands of years ago. Let them know they can be released from that bondage of sin and it does not have to control their lives.  Also let the save ones know they do not have to be bond to sin either.

Use your freedom of speech to tell saints that whatever sin they have they can overcome through the grace of God. Also let them know their is freedom serving God.  Show them that God does not put a yoke on them  or  bond them to ceremonial laws that they could not keep and that could not save them. Only through the death of Christ could save them.

John 8:36

We should also  let them know that there is someone that loves them. God love them so much that he sent His Son to die on the cross for everyone's sin. Also show them love by your actions and words. Show the saved and unsaved the love of God which should be in each of us if we are truly his disciples. Use your freedom in Christ to love one another.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13
