The school year is almost over and if you are a parent, you may be searching for a gift for your child's teacher. Especially since Teacher appreciation day is in May. She or he has been very good for your child and taught them a lot. So, of course, you want to give them a gift to show how much you appreciate them. Some of you may look on Pinterest to see what you should give your child's favorite teacher. But you may be surprised at what ideas people have for giving a teacher.
I know if a gift is given from the heart is a sweet sentiment, but a gift given with some thought is better. Teachers may not need a jar filled with Skittles and a pun attached to it. It is best to give them something they need or really want.
That is why I came up with a gift guide of actual things a teacher would want. Things that they will need for their classroom and something that will make their days off a whole lot better. All of the gifts on this list are under $25. I also included a few other ideas that would make a nice present.
Most school supplies are very affordable. Ask them what they need before buying. You can find a lot of supplies for under $10 especially if you shop at Walmart or even your local dollar store.

1. Printer Paper
Teachers go through a lot of paper especially if they have younger students. From printing to writing teachers use a lot of paper throughout one day. That is why any teacher would appreciate it if you recognized that.
2. Water Bottle
Teachers have to get their water intake whenever they can. Having a water bottle or tumbler is essential for maintain hydration all day long. A water bottle like this would be appreciated for a teacher especially when they go on field trips.

Etsy is a great place to find personalized bottles.
3. Teacher Notebooks
Teachers have to write a lot of notes and lessons. I know some teachers type theirs, but some evaluators and mentors prefer handwriting notes. Give a teacher a notebook and they would appreciate it and use it.

4. Lanyards
Teachers use lanyards to have their keys on or their badges. It helps them to have easy access to keys to get them in and out of the building. I found a few stylish ones. Some of them can be customized.
5. Gift Cards
Any Teacher would love a gift card from Target, Walmart, or Starbucks because a lot of them get their supplies and decorations from there.
6. Stampers
Some teachers have to grade papers by hand. These stampers will help the process of grading papers easier.
7. Laminating Sheets
Your child's teachers also laminate a lot of things such as student's artwork or items on their bulletin board. This would also come in handy.
This will come in handy because when working with children you have tendency to pick up a lot of germs. If a teacher has this they can sanitize the phone.
9. Mug Warmer
Great for teachers who are coffee and tea drinkers. This warmer will warm up their tea or coffee when they don't get a chance to finish drinking it.

10. Lunch Bags
Lunch bags come in handy because most of the time teachers have to eat when they can. Bringing your food is almost a requirement.

11. Teacher Pouch
Teachers love organization and this little pouch would help them to keep up with the things they love to carry around. Such as candy and hand sanitizer.
12. Markers
All teachers need dry erase markers. Someone is always losing the tops or not putting them on right. Give your child's teacher a pack of these and they will be happy.
13. Tote Bags
Teachers carry a lot of items in and out of their classrooms. A tote bag with their name on it would be appreciated.

Other Gift Suggestions:
Buy them a drink:
Treat your child's favorite teacher to a gift card to Starbucks or whatever coffee or tea shop they love. Better yet buy them a cup of their favorite coffee or tea. They will love this nice gesture to help them start their day.
Treat them to lunch:
A gift card to their favorite lunch place would also be a great gift especially if they forget to pack their lunch.
Give them a free day:
Since summer vacation is around the corner, they will want to treat themselves to some relaxation. Give them a gift certificate to a spa or nail salon. They will always think of you for giving such thoughtful gifts.
Give them a kind note or card:
I know I mostly focused on supplies which is what teachers need. But they would also like to know they are doing a good job and that people recognize it. Write or type note from the heart. This would be one of the most memorable gifts. You can even make one at Canva. Canva has great templates to use for teachers. Some are free and others you have to pay to use.
Conclusion:
Most teachers dedicate a lot of their time and money to helping their students. Giving them a gift no matter the price will show them to appreciate the work they have done.
