Book Wishlist

I love good books. I usually get books from the library. It is because it free, it is an excellent resource, and I love going there. Just to be surrounded by books is comfort.

However, I miss having my own books at room. I have been cleaning out my bookshelves and getting rid of books that are worn.
Now that I have done that, I am ready to add just a few books to cleaned shelves.

I am sharing a few books I would not mind reading or owning.
I love mysteries so my list contains most of those. I also got a few books I want to give to someone else.

Hard Dough Homicide : A Spice Isle Bakery Mystery

This is a new book I have never heard of before. I liked the description of the book. It is about a bakery owner Lyndsay who runs her family business. Her lastly venter is hosting a retirement party for a former principal, Emily. Emily was quite rude to Lyndsay's mom, when Ms. Murray was her employee. Six guests come to the dinner but only five survive. Emily dies after eating curry chicken. The police then come to Lyndsay bakery and start asking questions. This causing a scandal and customers start leaving. Lyndsay feels she has no choice but to get involved.

I love the fact it is a family business especially a bakery. I hope the book at least has some recipes.

Hot to Trot : An Agatha Raisin Mystery

This book series was recommended by a librarian, who gave excellent recommendations. I have been reading these books for years but when between the pandemic and work, I have lost track of the series.

This series is about Agatha Raisin a detective and now hit tv show star. Her former lover and friend Charles is getting engaged to a socialite. Agatha gets jealous and crashes the wedding.  This leads to a altercation. The next day getting over a hangover, Agatha finds out that Charles wife, Mary has been murdered.

Agatha decides to do some investigating and gets into Mary's former world. Agatha has to get involved in the competitive equestrian world. There she discovers that Mary had lots of enemies. From her old competitors to Mary's mean father. The father tells her to stay out of their business. However, the police have a prime suspect, Agatha herself.

I always liked this series because Agatha is hot mess. She is constantly getting in scrapes and getting involved with crazy men. She is brass and selfish, but she does try to help. She is also a good detective.
