It is almost Valentine's Day. This is the right time to talk about romantic movies. I thought about all the movies I have seen. All the ones I will like.
At the top of the list were Black romantic movies. Most of these movies were rare to see at one point in history. In the 1990s and early 2000s, things changed. Directors made a lot of Black romantic films then.
These movies soon became become my favorite ones. These movies are now my comfort films. Not just on Valentine's Day but any day.
It is good to see Black people love each other. Seeing movies that reflected the love that I see in life. Movies that were sweet and not filled with trauma.
I have hunted for movies like those films. I have found some. Which I included in the list.
If you want movies like that, you are in the right place. Here is my list of the best Black romantic films.

Brown Sugar
Two childhood friends share their love of hip-hop. Will they soon start loving each other?
I really like this movie because of the music. Music can bring two people together. If it was not for music, I would not be here. lol
My favorite scene in the movie is the dinner scene. Taye Diggs really should be in more comedies.
Rated PG-13
One Love
A church singer meets a man when competing in a music competition. The preacher's daughter falls in love with the rasta musician. Of course, there are going to be problems. The girl is engaged to someone at the church.

This movie has some funny (the bean scene) and sweet moments. I love the bond Eva has with her sisters. She is the typical older sister. She looks out for her family.
