How to figure out your own style

How to figure out your own style

How to find your own style

Consider how to bring about a change. Most of the time we think about how we can change our lifestyle or health. That is at the forefront of my mind as well. But I am also thinking about how to create my own style.

I have been thinking about what I want to wear and how I want to look. You may be thinking the same thing, especially if you desire a change in life.

This post is for you if you want to create or improve your style.

Embrace your body!

Find clothing that makes you feel good. Clothing that suits the body that you have at this moment. This could mean finding clothing that flatters your shape. It could also mean wearing what makes you feel confident.

Think about the life you have or want to have!

A career change might mean you need a new wardrobe. Find a style that works for you. For example, if you are a teacher of young children, you would have to wear comfortable clothing. Clothing that helps you to move with your students.

When you work from home and need to be on camera, dress in a business casual manner. At least have on a nice top. lol

Going to the gym daily and wanting to exercise more might require you to expand your collection of workout clothes.

Remember to keep your style in mind when planning and executing your actions.

Observe other's fashion choices and style

You have to find some inspiration. Look for those people whose style inspires you. One great thing you can do is look for inspiration on Pinterest. Look up different styles you may want to try.

If you want a more classic style for women. You might find pictures of Michelle Obama, Audrey Hepburn, Megan Markle, Zendaya, Diahann Carroll, Rihanna, or my current favorite, Tracee Ellis Ross.

Whatever you are into look for inspiration online. You can also look for inspiration around you. Like your friends, family members, or coworkers.

Once you find a person or people that inspire you, look at the pieces they are wearing. Look at how they style it. Think about what you would change or add on. Now you have looks in mind it is time to find the pieces to create the look.

Try different styles

Before buying items try pieces you have at home. Try each item you like on and see if you like it.

Use what you have!

Look around your closet or dresser drawers. What key pieces would you want to keep? Pick ones that you love and know look good with another piece in your closet. Only keep items that you want to wear and know you will wear often. Donate or give someone the rest if it is in good condition.

Buy it

Try less fast fashion.

Try second-hand or thrift stores for items. Some stores have quality pieces for less. For those who do not have access to a brick-and-mortar store, there are online stores you can try, such as The Real The Real.

Conclusion:

When making your choice, remember to prioritize comfort and the feeling of joy it brings.
