How to get your home ready for spring

1. Gather your cleaning items

Gather the items you will need to clean. You will need rags, a broom, a mop, sponges, and trash bags. Depending on what you will tackle, you may need more or fewer items.

2. Declutter and toss

Declutter and toss the things you don’t need. Start with the room that you know needs the most decluttering. That way, you can take your time. Throw away things that are old or ruined.

Things that you no longer need can be donated. Make sure these items are in good condition. Once you get rid of the clutter, you can clean.

3. Clean your ceilings and walls

My grandmother would always start with the walls and ceilings. The explanation is straightforward. Starting from the top to bottom allows for the dust and cobwebs to hit the dirty floor. Floors should always be completed last.

4. Dust items and clean storage spaces

Dust and clean your surfaces. Dust all the items before you dust the surfaces. Once you finish, you can organize items.

5. Organize your items

Find the right storage for your space. Smaller spaces will need smaller containers, and flat storage containers work best.

6. Decorate the inside of your home

Fix Your Yard

Once you fix the inside of your home, now you can focus on the outside.

Rebuild your yard.

1. Get grass, seed, fertilizer, and soil. You will need this to fix your yard.

2. If you have any empty spots, you can fill them with vegetables, herbs, or flowers. You can start with bulbs, seeds, or potted plants.

3. Add mulch

Add mulch to help with drainage or any cold weather that may occur. Mulch would also add color to your yard.

Conclusion
