How to focus on your total wellness

How to Focus on Your Total Wellness

When considering wellness, people associate it with being free from illness or disease. People also believe wellness is just exercising and eating healthy. Exercising and eating healthy is one part of wellness. To understand wellness, we must look at other dimensions that happen in our day-to-day lives.

 What is total wellness?

The actual definition has multiple dimensions. The model consists of intellectual, physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and occupational dimensions. There are other models and theories, but this is the one I am focusing on now.

What is Intellectual Wellness?

This dimension is the ability to think, stimulate curiosity, problem-solve, and be creative. Those who have intellectual wellness can be open-minded, clear-thinking, and develop personal values.

What is Physical Wellness?

Most people associate wellness with physical health. The key thing that people focus on is exercise. Healthy eating is also a key part of physical wellness. Another component that makes up physical wellness is rest and sleep. All these elements are necessary for physical wellness. Taking care of your appearance (skin, hair, etc.) is also part of physical health.

Here are some things you can do to help with your physical wellness.

Mental wellness is a person’s realization of their abilities. Their ability to manage normal stresses and be productive. The World Health Organization defines their capacity to be effective in society and their community. It also does not mean a person does not have a mental illness. There is no one fit for mental wellness. There is also no cure to make a person have perfect mental health. But there are ways to manage. it.

Here are some ways to improve your wellness in this area:

Being emotionally well means being aware of your own emotions. An individual comprehends their emotions and comprehends them. They can maintain emotional control despite changes or obstacles. People who are emotional well live in the present instead of solely focusing on the past or future.

These are activities to enhance your emotional awareness.

It refers to understanding one’s life purpose. It consists of your beliefs, morals, and values. You can focus on completing religious practices, but it is not necessary. One way to understand and support your spiritual wellness is to reflect on your life. During reflection, reflect on where you are and what you want your life to become.

Things you can do for your spiritual wellness:

A person who balances work and leisure time has occupational wellness. This balance is all done in a way that promotes health and personal satisfaction. They also find their job to be financially rewarding.

When a person has occupational wellness, they effectively deal with work and manage a stressor that may occur. Having occupational wellness means a person can work, communicate, and collaborate with others. Overall, they have a job that makes them feel like they have a purpose.
